The Basic Airborne Course is a prestigious course conducted by SAF Commandos. Cadets who are medically fit and above the age of 16 who pass a stringent physical fitness test will be selected to attend this rigorous training.
This course is open to all NCC Cadet Lieutenants and Cadets to offer them a more interesting, adventurous and challenging type of training. Interested NCC Officers (male and female) who are physically fit may also apply for the course, subject to availability of vacancies.
The 189th BAC will run from 6th till 28th June 2007.
There will be 2 selection tests.

On completion of 3 parachute jumps they are awarded the SAF Airborne Wings. NCC cadets are presented with SAF Airborne Wings and can wear them when they are enlisted into the SAF. The NCC is the only youth organization that is involved in this activity.
Note that the BAC does handle the element of extreme height. Thus if you are not comfortable with heights to a large extent, I would advice you not to sign up for this course.
However if you meet those pre-requisites and you're all ready and geared up for the challenge, I say GO FOR IT! Its gonna be mighty fun!
